The sleepy, dopey action bonanza "Angel Has Fallen" is disappointing, and not just for the reasons you might expect. Being the second sequel to "Olympus Has Fallen," "Angel Has Fallen" doesn't even have a high bar to clear."Olympus Has Fallen" was a by-the-numbers revenge-fantasy about ruthless North Koreans and emasculated, savior-thirsty Americans that's mostly. As with the other films in the Has Fallen trilogy, this latest entry is a thuddingly dull exercise in blokey nonsense.
Parents need to know that Angel Has Fallen is the third film in an intense action series that began with Olympus Has Fallen and continued in London Has Fallen. Like those, the story centers on a foreign plot to kill the American president, with Secret Service Agent Mike Banning (Gerard Butler) ready to protect and serve. Also like the other two, Angel Has Fallen has constant graphic violence.
But Angel Has Fallen came at the perfect time, end of August/early September when there's not much else out in theaters, at least blockbuster movie wise. However, ANGEL HAS FALLEN has many strong obscenities. Also, the action violence contains graphic violence, including point blank shootings and scenes with people being bombed. There's no reason for all this. Gerard Butler just keeps on coming. Notwithstanding London Has Fallen, fell way short of the original as such wheels are in motion on a third film in the series.
