"Love, Rosie" is one of those annoying movies in which everything would be just fine if the two central characters had a simple conversation that cleared up all their misunderstandings. But then, there would be no movie - although, in retrospect, that might not be such a bad thing. Love, Rosie, on the other hand, focuses on relationships, and that we often choose poorly.
In LOVE, ROSIE (based on the novel by Cecelia Ahern), it's clear from the start that Rosie is supposed to be with Alex, and vice versa. That means, then, that viewers spend the entire movie watching them apart, making one wayward decision after another. We read and loved the book (you can read our review here), so we had pretty high expectations going into this.

Love, Rosie takes the typical romantic comedy, adds some drama and an extra dose of laughs, and results in a film that's as surprising as it is enjoyable to While the trailers market a completely different movie altogether, the reality is that Love, Rosie is an endearing film that's arrived just in time for. Still, give it a chance, and Love, Rosie might surprise you. This is a movie that wants to make you feel good inside, an easygoing crowd-pleaser led by two appealing actors but also one with atypically high ambitions. But "Love, Rosie" doesn't aspire to be anything more than a digestible rom-com trifle.
