It's a great family movie, and it's a great comic book movie. Hiro Hamada is a pretty brainy kid. This irresistible blob of roly-poly, robot charisma is a digital doughboy who steals every scene he's in.
That may sound strange, to talk about a movie that's built around a robot in that way, but Baymax — like WALL-E and other amiable automatons — ultimately wins the day, not by overriding his inner Florence Nightingale. It begins to drag after about an hour, and though it's too witty and well made to become. Are you going to love Baymax? I ended up seeing it a couple times in theaters and had no problem watching it yet again on Blu-ray. You can read our full review HERE. It's no surprise the movie won an Oscar this past weekend for Best Animated Feature.

Sure it has some problems with it's writing and some character development but the Hiro and Baymax relationship and seeing the character developing from his depression makes this movie really interesting. Although it plays out in very familiar surroundings it contains enough elements to make it fresh. And the best part is not only that it's funny, but that it's funny in so many ways.
