The plot is waifer thin, almost an excuse to stage the film in the first place (a woman with existential problems suddenly vanishes on Stromboli, a volcanic island off the coast of Sicily). Claudia and Anna join Anna's lover, Sandro, on a boat trip to a remote volcanic island. When Anna goes missing, a search is launched.
